Do's

DO read and follow the instructions printed on the fireworks package.
DO designate a responsible adult to handle and ignite fireworks.
DO use fireworks outdoors in an open, clear area, away from buildings, vehicles, and flammable objects.
DO light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly to a safe distance.
DO keep a bucket of water, hose, or fire extinguisher nearby in case of fire or other accidents.
DO soak used fireworks in water before discarding them.
DO wear protective eyewear and gloves while handling fireworks.
DO ensure pets and animals are safely indoors to avoid distress caused by fireworks.
DO follow all local laws and regulations related to the use of fireworks.
DO ensure that children are well-supervised when watching fireworks displays.

Don'ts

DON'T buy fireworks from unlicensed vendors or use illegal fireworks.
DON'T allow children to handle or ignite fireworks without adult supervision.
DON'T light fireworks indoors or in enclosed spaces.
DON'T wear loose or flammable clothing while using fireworks.
DON'T relight fireworks that fail to ignite (duds). Wait 15 minutes, then safely soak and dispose of them.
